JUST IN TIME TRAINING™ was initiated by CoreCulture’s development team when we began work on a custom software platform for one of the most progressive retail
organizations in North America.

It is a web-based, automated personal training system which will measure knowledge gaps based on learning objectives per individual, region, season, etc.

Avoiding wasting team members’ time: The system will only train employees on what they don’t know.

Increasing retention levels: each individual team members will be exposed to his or her individual set of topics over a given period of time – this is called “interval reinforcement” – hence increasing their retention levels to a reliable 90%.

Optimizing learning strategies per individual: JUST IN TIME TRAINING™: will also assess the threshold of a training’s success over time per team member and adjust the learning strategy accordingly: either minimally invasive (30 seconds per day) or, as a last resort, a more in-depth review either in the Learning Management System or in a class-setting.

Corporate operational objectives drive training – in real time!: Quarterly, monthly or weekly corporate-level objectives can influence the way e - Learning is allocated in JUST IN TIME TRAINING™: if Revenue is the main focus for a quarter, while Controlling Costs is the prime target for the following quarter, the priorities can be adjusted accordingly, on the fly, and training will be allocated accordingly.

Employees work while they’re learning AND learn while they’re working: it takes on average under 30 seconds per day to complete a program, hence keeping the intrusiveness of the platform at a minimum. Employees don’t have the feeling they are cutting into the time needed to accomplish their daily tasks. We call these “bite-size” or nano-trainings.

Associates are very engaged: engagement tools, such as games, friendly competitions and rewards of many different kinds keep associates fully engaged as they equally enjoy the power of learning useful and relevant information as well as participating in playful interactions. This results in higher participation rates. For instance, one of our customers, a 20,000 associates retailer, has a consistent >90% participation rate in the platform, with people logging in on average every 2-3 days – hence avoiding the hockey stick pattern of end-of-month rush to complete traditional mandatory monthly training programs.

Results:

  • Elevated knowledge retention: average 98% retention rate after 5 iterations of a question – that’s the equivalent of 98% ROI made in training/awareness campaign in that particular topic
  • Boosted participation rates: “The highest level of participation in a voluntary program in the history of the company,” as a manager put it
  • Employees more engaged: “I want to be able to answer more questions!”
  • Impacted behavior:
    • Pep Boys Auto reduced safety incidents by 30%, saving the organization millions of $ during the first two years of our work together
